I create beautiful things – I make old furniture look brilliant and homely once again. I love old character full, worn in, pre-loved, understated and unassuming objects. Partnered with plush fabrics with funky prints that add luxury to the mundane and show that the item is still very much loved.
I study at University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury and mostly spend my time in the print room – lino printing being my favourite medium. I am especially inspired by the botanical drawings done by Victorian naturalists and the way they collected images of everything. This shows in my lino prints and my fabric design.
I do my fabric printing entirely by hand, mostly on my sitting room floor and the effect is designed to be random – there are hundreds of places where you can buy repeated fabric with uniform designs running through. Each metre of fabric that I print is unique.
